Diasporadic

The Triangle’s first interdependent Asian American band.

During the winter of 2024, i had the unscratchable urge to start a five-piece band as my next creative venture. So i invited my friend, Minh, who became the guitarist, as well as my friend, Christina, who became the pianist, and designed a flyer to recruit a bassist and a drummer. Within 24 hours, the band became a reality with the addition of Aaren, the bassist, and Mina, the drummer.
The rest is history :)

bodies in motion : the poet in diaspora

4/13/25, 2-4pm

The first local poetry reading i was invited to read at. Alongside poets Luna Hou, Ash Chen, Boatemaa Agyeman-Mensah & Paddy Qiu, i delivered a 12-ish minute poetry reading about my unique lived experience as a person of many marginalized groups & got to hear some great poems by poets who resonate :) In any case, i loved being in conversation with them. And of course, i brought my mom with me 🌟

4/15/25, 5:30 - 7pm

Successfully defended my senior honors thesis by reading 15 minutes of original & translated poems, yapping about my life, crying, tearing up after hearing other talented poets (my friends) reading, and feeling shy from receiving thundering ovations from a no-seats-left-empty Graham Memorial Hall.
